About materials

When choosing the materials for our products we pay attention to their quality but we also place importance on choosing Czech producers and supplies. We purchase non-local materials only in those cases when the quality of a certain material is much higher than on local market.

Wraps Clothing Accessories

Cotton

Our wraps are made from 100% combed cotton and woven in the Czech Republic. Combed cotton is treated in a special way before being woven into the wrap, ensuring its unusual softness and smoothness. The wrap is immediately pleasurable to touch for you and your baby. The yarns used for the wraps are dyed in dye houses carrying an international certificate, Oeko Tex 100, guaranteeing their complete safety. We would like to use other materials other than cotton in the future. You can let us know which ones you would welcome!

Merino

We love our Total Easy Care merino wool with Oeko Tex 100 cetrification, which is extremely easy to maintain. It is a matter of course that our merino is mulesing free. Merino wool is a truly brilliant yarn. It comes from the merino sheep whom it enables to survive the toughest winter as well as hot summer. The yarn has a naturally intelligent structure. It´s an active yarn - it reacts to the body temperature. It can soak up plenty of water without feeling wet. It´s soft, breathable and naturally odour resistant.

Tencel

Tencel is an amazing fibre in many aspects. It has unique characteristics related to moisture management: it is able to absorb 50% more water than cotton and it spreads moisture evenly – providing better evaporation. It is antibacterial, soft, pleasant to touch and it has a lovely drape. On top of that it is easy to maintain because it is more durable than other fibers.

Tencel is made out of eukalyptus wood, and it is produced without the use of toxic substances. Its production uses less energy and water than the majority of textile fabrics, earning it the nickname “the green fibre”.

We use Tencel from Lenzing, an Austrian company which earned an ECO-Label for its production of Tencel. The label verifies that no toxic substances or chlorine were used in the production process and that the wood used for the fibre comes from sustainable production.

Silk

Silk comes from silkworm cocoons and is one of the oldest textile materials - the oldest findings date back to 8.5 thousand years ago. Silk is an extremely durable material that lasts a long time. It exceptionally strong. That is why even thin wraps with silk are so strong and comfortable with heavier children as well.

Silk has a beautiful shine thanks to the flat fiber surface that reflects light. It is very pleasant to touch, soft and smooth. In the summer, you will appreciate its high moisture absorbance without feeling wet, and in winter its low thermal conductivity, which keeps the warmth on the body surface. Silk is healing for the skin and is an excellent material for those with atopic eczema and other skin problems.

Linen

SeaCell

SeaCell which is also nicknamed Sea Silk is a fibre that contains brown algae Ascophyllum nodosum which are harvested in Icelandic fjords by environmentally-friendly means .The yarn contains many active and skin protecting materials (like amino-acids, vitamins etc.). According to the testing that was done at the University of Jena it contains also antioxidants that can effectively inactivate free radicals. It´s also soft and pleasant.

SeaCell is made by the Lyocell manufacture process where the seaweed is added to the wood pulp. The fibre is made in Germany, the yarn in Switzerland.

Hemp

Hemp is a traditional thread material in our countries. It has recently gained renewed interest for its great qualities. Cannabis is a plant that does not need as much water or pesticides as cotton to grow. In addition, it can be grown in the climatic conditions of Central Europe which reduces transport demands.

Hemp as a textile fiber is very strong and durable. No wonder people used it to make nautical ropes in the past! It is antiseptical, antibacterial and UV resistant. Because of its relative roughness, it is often combined with cotton (we use this combination, too) to make it comfortable even against bare skin. Hemp has high water absorbency and odor resistance, making it particularly popular for summer clothing. Of course, you can wear it all year round..
